The 23rd consulting meeting of the National BSP Coordinators. Latvia 2010
The 23rd consulting meeting of the National and Programme coordinators of the Baltic Sea Project within UNESCO ASPnet was held on April 30th till May 2nd 2010 in Jurmala, Latvia. National coordinators from Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden and 6 program coordinators took part in the meeting.
Latvian National Commission for UNESCO Secretary General Dagnija Baltina opening the meeting stressed the importance of the BSP for the implementation the goals of UN Decade “Education for sustainable development”.
The main attention was turned to the BSP programs. The program (Environmental Measurements, Bird ecology, BSP Coastwatch, Rivers, Phenologycal studies) coordinators have introduced with students observation results. There are some countries from which there are no participants in the BSP programs last year. What is the reason?
All meeting participants have made observations in nature (Riga Bay and Kemeri National Park), using the BSP programs protocols.

Reserve introduce about different activities according to the conservation of the biodiversity in small rivers.
Different national and international activities for year 2010 and 2011 were adopted. All BSP schools are invited to use the project home page forum for discussions about the environmental problems.
